Paper introduction:

"Today, the service providers are capable of collecting a massive amount of user information using Big Data techniques. For service providers/ companies, user information is a vital asset and fuel to run their businesses. The business models of the service providers focus on collecting extensive user information to gain useful knowledge for their unspecified benefits. Looking at such business models, the user privacy has become a crucial issue in today’s fast growing digital world. So, this paper elaborates the extensive analysis on the flow of personal between various entities like users, service providers, third parties, data brokers, etc. Apart from business models, significant privacy issues like user awareness about privacy and user control over personal data are presented in this paper. This paper also identified several challenges that address the issues like unavailability of effective privacy awareness or protection tools, effortless way to visualize the personal information flow and its management. Hence, empowering users and enhancing awareness are essential to comprehending the value of privacy. This paper also introduced latest recommendations to address privacy issues like OpenID, OAuth, UMA, etc. which can state suitable requirements for user empowerment and will cater to redefine the trustworthy relationship between service providers and users. Subsequently, this paper has concluded with suggestions for providing empowerment to the user and developing user-centric, transparent business models."
