On December 4, 2019, AAU organised a coding competition event where more than 65 students from different Danish universities challenged each other by solving 12 programming problems of various difficulty levels.
Students submitted their solutions in the online platform provided by AAU (https://coding.aau.dk/) where an automatic tool evaluated their code. Correct solutions and the fastest submissions were allocated more points in the automatic ranking.
The event was part of the Erasmus+ project "Framework for Gamified Programming Environment (FGPE)" (fgpe.usz.edu.pl/) where AAU is one of the four partners.
The event started with the presentation of the FGPE project, its objectives, the planned Intellectual Outputs, and the current status. Then, the problems were unveiled and the students were busy for 5 hours solving them, while having snacks, coffee, lunch, and drinks.
Representatives from different companies and other universities attended and supported the event: Motorola Solutions, Shape, datto, KPMG, November First, PROSA, Technical University of Denmark (DTU), Copenhagen School of Design and Technology (KEA).
The first three teams won generous prizes sponsored by Motorola Solutions and Shape.
