On the 16th of February 2020, we (AAU along with the assistance of the Happy42 company) organised a Cyber Security Training day. More than 70 participants came to the event from many different universities (e.g., DTU, ITU, AU, AAU, KU), schools and companies. The event included three keynote speakers: Martin Kofoed (Vice President, Cyber Defence, at JN Data A/S), Kim B. Larsen (Group Chief Security Officer and CISO at Systematic A/S) and Lars Blomgaard (NC3, Rigspolitiet), who acted as a motivational platform for the students.

Participants formed groups of three to five people and participated in two different parts of hacking and training. The first part of the training utilised our cyber-security training platform HAAUKINS. Here the students had to gain points in a capture-the-flag concept while hacking into different systems. We also assisted the groups whenever they experienced challenges or difficulties. A break took place upon the end of the first part for networking and pizza. The second part included an exciting non-technical exercise on incident response in the cyber-security context. The participants had to make fast decisions on very important topics for their (imaginary) company. After the two parts ended, a jury committee (Jens Myrup Pedersen and Emmanouil Vasilomanolakis) counted the points and declared the top three winning groups.

Overall, the event received very positive feedback and the participants were excited and happy that they joined the training day. We particularly want to thank Motorola Solutions, who kindly sponsored the prizes for the winning teams with a total of 7,500 kr.
